| Principals Welcome |

Welcome to the La Salle Web Site, La Salle's window to the world. Through this Web Site we hope to use the communications of the 21st Century to bring together all those associated with La Salle both in the present and in the past. The Web Site will use the facilities of the Internet to link La Salle to the local community and to the world beyond our physical boundaries. It will improve and enrich the communication between staff and parents, it will provide a window for the local community to see the work going on in the school, it will link us to our past pupils wherever they may be and it will allow us to build on our international links in Europe and America. The Web Site will be a valuable learning and teaching resource for Staff, Pupils and Parents. Staff will be able to access and to share up to the minute teaching materials. Pupils will be able to learn online and to use the web site to complete coursework, homeworks and projects. Parents will be able to find detailed information about what their sons are working on in school and how they can help them at home. La Salle's success has been based firmly on close co-operation and mutual support between school and parents. The Web Site adds a whole new dimension to this and brings our communication into the 21st Century. We hope it will be a two way communication system. Not only will the school be able to inform parents but parents will also be able to ask questions and make suggestions for improvement. The site will also provide a means for us to communicate with past pupils and for them to let us know where they are and how they are getting on. Through the Web Site past pupils will also be able to communicate with each other and re-establish contacts broken since leaving La Salle. It will be fascinating to see how far and wide our past pupils are spread. Finally the site will allow us to establish day to day links with schools and other organisations we have contact with outside Ireland. We have no doubt that the site will not only improve existing links but will also make new and exciting contacts in many different parts of the world. The opportunities are quite literally without any boundaries. Mr Paul Barry |
