Since opening La Salle Boys' has always been seen as part of the community. In the beginning, when funds where short, there existed a 'Bingo Committee' consisting of representatives of the parents and the local community. Their regular Friday and Saturday night bingo sessions helped to contribute to the funds of the school but also helped develop the sense of 'our school' within the local community.
This organisations plans to provide families with Christmas presents. In school each form class collected money and then nominated someone to go and purchase a present. The class were each given a particular child and would be told their child is a ten year old boy etc. This proved very popular with the boys as they could identify with the person they were buying for.
