La Salle is only one school in a world wide network of Lasallian communities. Each year we have a visiting de La Salle brother (Bro. John) who gives talks to the pupils about the work of the Brothers. This has lead to a number of Lenten appeals to give support for some of these communities and in one year some of the sixth year students actually visiting a community to help. For more information on La Salle in the World visit www.lasalle.org Other cross community exchanges include; Kilkenny Exchange TripLa Salle have established very close meaningful links with St Kieran's College,Kilkenny and annual educational,cultural and exchange visits take place. St Kieran's College are one of the premier hurling colleges in the country and have produced distinguished hurlers such as Eddie Keher,D.J. The exchange visits are very benefical in developing and improving hurling skills,experiencing diversity of culture and a positive influence on their personal and social development. Other exchange trips the scholl has participated in include;
In addition to exchange trips there is also the Educational Trips which have include;
And the many single day trips from a wide variety of departments including; geography field trips, Science field trips, History, ICT, Business, Language, department, Media Studies, Theatre trips, and many more. More sporting exchanges have led the pupils to; Walking and Hiking in the Glens of Antrim at Kilmore house near Glenariff. This was a house organised by the De la Salle brothers and used by the school. Sadly it is no longer used for school trips.
