ADMISSIONS CRITERIA FOR ENTRY OF PUPILS TO YEAR 8 [Form 1] SEPTEMBER 2007 An application to enrol in La Salle implies acceptance of the School’s philosophy as outlined in the Prospectus. The Board of Governors has determined the criteria for admission and has delegated to the Principal its functions and responsibilities in the application of those criteria. Below are listed the criteria which will be applied in the following order: - Applicants enrolled in the following pool of Primary Schools in the Parishes of - St Agnes’ (Holy Child Primary School), St Michael The Archangel (St John the Baptist Primary School, Bunscoil Phobail Feirste), St Oliver Plunkett’s (St Oliver Plunkett Primary School), St Anne’s (St Anne’s Primary School) and Derriaghy (St Colman’s Primary School), and Our Lady Queen of Peace (Our Lady Queen of Peace Primary School) on 15th September 2006.
- Applicants who have a brother or half brother already enrolled in the school on 15th September 2006.
- Applicants who are sons of permanent employees of the school.
- Applicants who are brothers or half brothers of past pupils of the school.
- Applicants whose father or legal guardian is a past pupil of the school.
- Applicants who have a sister or half sister attending St Genevieve’s High School on 15th September 2006.
- Applicants who are the eldest boy in their family.
- Applicants enrolled in the following pool of Primary Schools on 15th September 2006 :
- Ballymacward Primary School
- Christ the Reddeemer
- Good Shepherd Primary School
- Holy Trinity Primary School
- St Clares’s Primary School
- St Joseph’s Primary School Belfast
- St Joseph’s Primary School Crumlin
- St Kevin’s Primary School
- St Kieran’s Primary School
- St Luke’s Primary School
- St Mark’s Primary School
- St Mary’s Primary School
- St Paul’s Primary School
- St Peter’s Primary School
- St Teresa’s Primary School
- All other applicants
NOTE 1 The following information must be indicated on the Transfer Report Form. Criterion 2: The name and class of the brother or half brother attending La Salle. Criterion 3: The name of the employee and the position held in the school. Criterion 4: Years in attendance at the school by the past pupil. Criterion 5: Years in attendance at the school by the father or legal guardian. Criterion 6: The name and class of the sister or half sister attending St Genevieve’s High School. Criterion 7: The eldest boy in their family. NOTE 2 If the admissions number of 165 is reached in the course of applying Criterion No 1 above, the final places from the criteria which causes the school to be over subscribed will be offered firstly to applicants who have a brother or half brother enrolled in the school on 15th September 2006 and then to the applicants who are the oldest. If applicants for the final place have identical dates of birth then selection will be based on lot i.e. the first drawn name will be selected. NOTE 3 If the admissions number of 165 is reached in the course of applying Criteria No 2-9 above, the final places from the criteria which causes the school to be over subscribed will be offered to applicants who are the oldest.
