Mathematics Department

The Mathematics Department has 9 members of staff and the classes are taught by a Mathematics specialist in accordance with the Northern Ireland Programme of Study.

Each year group at Key Stage 3 have nine mixed ability teaching groups. Pupils complete external assessments at the end of their third year and their performance is reported to parents.
At Key Stage 4, all children are entered for GCSE at the appropriate level. All of our students have the chance to achieve at least a grade C in their GCSE examination.
We encourage all our students to avail of an excellent web based programme called “” which helps to make their learning more enjoyable and is an effective learning resource.

We also encourage our most able pupils to continue their studies to both AS Level and A Level.  The sixth year pupils study a modular course in Pure Maths, Applied Maths and Statistics.
